Applications of NSP-1 Molecular Sieve:

In the production of compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG), NSP-1 Molecular Sieve is used for deep dehydration, to prevent the equipment or pipelines from freezing and clogging during pressurization and liquefaction.

Generally, two or three tower processes are used, and two tower processes are used for longer periods.  During production, one tower is in adsorption state and another is in activation regeneration state.  During adsorption, the natural gas with high water content generally passes through the molecular sieve bed from top to bottom to reduce the disturbance of gas flow to the molecular sieve bed.  When switching between adsorption and regeneration, the pressure-lowering and pressure-generating rates should be less than 0.3MPa/min.

How is Calcium Nitride Produced?
When calcium burns in the air, it forms Ca3N2 with the oxide CaO. The distilled fibrous metallic calcium is heated to 450°C in a purified nitrogen stream, and then the metallic calcium is nitrided into calcium nitride after 3-4 hours.
Depending on the preparation temperature, the obtained calcium nitride is black at 350°C, milky white at 350 to 1150°C, or golden yellow at 1150°C or higher. It is easy to identify the calcium nitride formed because it can react with moisture or water and produce calcium hydroxide and ammonia.


Applications of Calcium Nitride
Ca3N2 can be used for obtaining reactive nitride ions, Calcium hydride (a desiccant) can be produced by heating calcium nitride with hydrogen at temperatures above 350 °C.

It is hydrophobic and organophilic, suitable for the adsorption and separation of VOCs from industrial exhaust gas, especially suitable for the separation and recovery of organic matter from industrial exhaust gas containing more water vapor.  

It has good thermal stability and hydrothermal stability, stable structure, uniform pore, adsorption and desorption speed, easy regeneration, non-combustion, long service life and other advantages, which could replace the traditional carbon materials (activated carbon, activated carbon fiber, etc.).

 

It has developed three-dimensional medium microporous channels, which is suitable for adsorption of small and medium molecular VOCs with molecular sieve size less than 0.55nm, but not for adsorption of larger molecular VOCs.  Typical VOCs applicable to this product include: toluene, xylene, styrene, hexane, cyclohexane, acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, phenol, formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, etc.
